Overpayment Protection (Parkster Complete)
What does overpayment protection mean? Overpayment protection is an intelligent feature of Parkster Complete. It can happen to anyone that they forget to end a parking Ticket on time. The overpayment protection reminds you via a notification on your smartphone to end your Ticket as soon as it detects that you are leaving the parking location with your car. How does overpayment protection work on iOS (iPhone)? Functionality: When you start a parking session, a so-called geofence (a virtual geographic area) is created around your location. As soon as the app detects that you are leaving this area and moving in a vehicle, you will receive a notification. Using the notification: You can end your ongoing Ticket directly through the notification. Depending on your iPhone model, you can either press firmly or long-press the notification to see the "End" button. If you tap normally on the notification, the Parkster app will open. Required permissions: For the feature to work, the app needs access to your location ("Always") and to "Motion & Fitness" (to detect if you are driving). You will be prompted for these permissions during your first parking session after activating Complete. How do I enable "Motion & Fitness" on iOS? * Open your iPhone's settings. * Scroll down and select Parkster. * Under Location, choose the "Always" option. * Make sure the switch for Motion & Fitness is turned on. How does overpayment protection work on Android? Functionality: When starting a parking session, the app activates a sensor. As soon as your smartphone detects that you are moving in a car, a notification will appear reminding you to end your parking Ticket. Required permissions: From Android 10 onwards, the app requires access to your "Physical Activity" to recognize when you leave the parking space with your car. This permission will be requested during your first parking session after activation. For Android 9 or older, no special permission is required. How do I enable "Physical Activity" on Android? * Open your smartphone's settings. * Go to Apps (or "Apps & Notifications"). * Select Parkster and tap on Permissions. * Choose Physical Activity and tap Allow. * How can I deactivate overpayment protection?
Booking a Visitor Tax (Kurtaxe)
What is a zone for the daily visitor tax (Kurtaxe)? In some municipalities and regions, you will find dedicated zones in the Parkster app for paying the daily visitor tax (Kurtaxe). Important to know: * Per person, not per vehicle: This payment covers your individual stay in the region as a visitor - it is not tied to a vehicle. * Does not include parking: These zones do not include a parking ticket. Therefore, no green parking area is displayed on the map in the app, as the visitor tax is not linked to a specific parking lot. You will find the exact details and conditions on how to book the daily visitor tax directly within the respective zone in the app. Do you also need to park your car? If you arrive by car and wish to park, you must purchase a separate parking ticket in a regular parking zone. Parking zones are listed as separate parking areas in the app. Related Articles * How do I find a parking lot or zone?
How do I use my guest card with Parkster?
How do I use my guest card with Parkster? With many guest cards, discount codes, or regional passes (e.g. Allgäu-Walser-Card, Daheimpass, Berchtesgaden Guest Card, Rothenburg Plus Card, Tirol Regio Card, etc.), you can enjoy discounted or free parking via Parkster. How do I link my card with the Parkster app? Depending on the region or type of card, there are two ways to redeem the discount: Option A: Using the "Use Discount Code" field * Select the desired parking zone in the app. * Enter your card number in the "Use Discount Code" field. * The discount will be credited to your account as long as the card is valid. Option B: Using the "Special Rate" selection * Open the app, tap on "Find," and select the parking space. * Select the "Special Rate" option (or e.g., "With Rothenburg Plus Karte"). * Enter the expected parking duration and tap "Continue." * Enter your card number (as well as your name and email address, if applicable) and confirm the special rate. I forgot to enter the discount code - what to do? * For discount codes: You can still add the card number as long as the parking process is ongoing. If the parking process has already been completed, retroactive crediting is no longer possible. * For special rates: The parking process must be initiated before starting with the selected special rate and the entered card number. Retroactive adjustments after starting are not possible. My discount code or special rate isn't working - what could be the reason? If the entry fails or the discount is not applied, please check the following points: * Restrictions to specific parking zones: Many guest cards are only valid in selected parking areas of the respective municipality/city and not universally. * Usage restrictions per day / license plate: Some discounts are only valid once per day or only for a single vehicle. If a free parking process is started and then immediately canceled, the discount for that day may still be considered used. * Simultaneous use: A discount code generally cannot be used for two vehicles or multiple parking processes at the same time. * Blocked times: Some cards have blocked times, after which the parking process will be charged at the regular rate. * Unsupported guest card: Not every regional guest card is supported by Parkster. Please ensure that the card is explicitly authorized for use with the Parkster app. Tip: If all entries are correct and the code is still not accepted, please contact the issuer of your guest card directly (e.g., city marketing or local tourist information).

What is an eInvoice and when do I need it?
What is an eInvoice? An electronic invoice (eInvoice) is an invoice issued in a structured format that is transmitted and received electronically. It allows for automatic and electronic processing in accounting software. When does the eInvoice regulation apply? The eInvoice regulation, which comes into effect on January 1, 2025, applies exclusively to business-to-business transactions (B2B). Exempt from the eInvoice regulation are: * Small amounts under 250 EUR gross * Services provided by small businesses * Services to legal entities that are not businesses (e.g., associations or government institutions) Does Parkster offer invoices in ZUGFeRD format? Currently, our invoices are provided as standard PDF documents. We do not yet offer hybrid formats combining PDF and XML files (such as ZUGFeRD). Since parking transactions generally fall under the exemption for amounts under EUR 250 or applicable transitional periods, our PDF invoices remain fully compliant and valid for your accounting. We are planning to support structured eInvoicing formats in the future.
What is At work account and how do I use it?
Do you often park as part of your professional activities and later submit the costs to your employer? Or do you want to deduct parking fees for tax purposes? Then the "At work" service is just right for you. This allows you to keep your business parking transactions separate from your personal ones and receive separate billing for both. Here you can find more information.
DKV Mobility Card
The DKV Mobility Card is a payment method that can only be stored in the At Work account. Why only there? * At Work: This account is intended for individual employees who pay their parking fees privately (e.g., using their personal DKV card) and then submit the expenses through the company's travel expense report. That’s why the DKV card can be stored there. Each parking transaction is immediately settled with DKV right after it ends. * Business Parking / Private: The business account is designed for direct, centralized billing of the company via monthly invoices. Unfortunately, in this variant as well as in the private account, the DKV card cannot currently be stored as a payment method. Where and how can I use the DKV card? * You can use the card throughout Germany at all available Parkster locations. * In Austria, it is currently not possible. However, it is possible to use the service in Germany with an Austrian DKV card. How to store the DKV card in the app: Do you already have a At Work account? * Open the Parkster app. * Tap "More" in the bottom right corner. * In the menu, tap "Dienstlich" and then "Change payment method." * Select the DKV Mobility Card, tap "Save payment method selection," and follow the instructions. Don’t forget to save at the end! Don’t have a At Work account yet? * Open the Parkster app. * Tap "More" in the bottom right corner and then tap "At Work." * Activate the service and enter your details. * Select the DKV Mobility Card as the payment method. Problems or questions? * Can't store the card? Please check if the card number is entered correctly and if the card is still valid. * Support & Billing: If it still doesn’t work or you have questions about DKV invoices, please contact DKV customer support directly at info@dkv-mobility.com to have your card checked.
Can my family and I share an account?
Yes, if you have activated Parkster Complete. The administrator sets up a family account and can invite up to three family members. Subsequently, all parking transactions initiated through family parking will be collected and billed on a separate invoice. You and all participating family members just need to tap on the Family field in the app before parking. You can see the selection buttons directly above the Choose Vehicle and Park options.
What is the difference between business parking and commercial parking?
The main difference lies in who manages the account and how the billing is done: At Work (Individual Employees) This service is intended for individual employees who have control over the account themselves. You initially pay the parking fees yourself - for example, conveniently using your personal DKV card or another payment method. Afterwards, you simply submit the costs through your expense report to your employer. This service is also available in Austria (AT). Business Parking (Central Company Billing) This account is designed for central processing by the company. All parking transactions of the invited employees are collected and billed directly to the employer. A DKV card cannot currently be registered here. Business Parking is not yet available in Austria (AT).
Can I change a business or company parking transaction to private afterwards?
Yes, that is possible! As long as the parking transaction has not yet appeared on a final monthly statement, you can easily correct the categorization (private, business, or company) yourself. Through the App: * Open the Parkster App. * Tap on "More." * Select "My Pages." * Tap on "Manage your account." * In the top right corner, tap on the three menu lines and select "Parkings / Receipts." * Search for the parking transaction in the list and scroll all the way to the right in the last column. * Tap on the categorization and then click on "Change Categorization." * Check if the selection has been applied and is displayed correctly. Through the Website: * Go to parkster.com and log in. * Click on "Receipts" in the top right corner. * Search for and select the desired parking transaction. * Select the desired categorization (private, at work, or business). * Check if the selection has been applied.
What is business parking and how do I use it?
With business parking, your employer manages all parking transactions centrally and takes care of the monthly billing. To park using the business account, your employer must invite you via email or SMS. * When a user creates a new business account, they automatically become the administrator of the account. However, the company remains responsible for the payment. * The administrator decides in the back office (accessible via "My Pages") which employees will be invited. Important notes: * Please note that business parking is currently not available in Austria (AT). * You can choose in the app before starting any parking transaction whether it should be private or charged to the business account.
