Overpayment Protection (Parkster Complete)

What does overpayment protection mean?

Overpayment protection is an intelligent feature of Parkster Complete. It can happen to anyone that they forget to end a parking Ticket on time. The overpayment protection reminds you via a notification on your smartphone to end your Ticket as soon as it detects that you are leaving the parking location with your car.

How does overpayment protection work on iOS (iPhone)?

Functionality: When you start a parking session, a so-called geofence (a virtual geographic area) is created around your location. As soon as the app detects that you are leaving this area and moving in a vehicle, you will receive a notification.

Using the notification: You can end your ongoing Ticket directly through the notification. Depending on your iPhone model, you can either press firmly or long-press the notification to see the "End" button. If you tap normally on the notification, the Parkster app will open.

Required permissions: For the feature to work, the app needs access to your location ("Always") and to "Motion & Fitness" (to detect if you are driving). You will be prompted for these permissions during your first parking session after activating Complete.

How do I enable "Motion & Fitness" on iOS?

  • Open your iPhone's settings.
  • Scroll down and select Parkster.
  • Under Location, choose the "Always" option.
  • Make sure the switch for Motion & Fitness is turned on.

How does overpayment protection work on Android?

Functionality: When starting a parking session, the app activates a sensor. As soon as your smartphone detects that you are moving in a car, a notification will appear reminding you to end your parking Ticket.

Required permissions: From Android 10 onwards, the app requires access to your "Physical Activity" to recognize when you leave the parking space with your car. This permission will be requested during your first parking session after activation. For Android 9 or older, no special permission is required.

How do I enable "Physical Activity" on Android?

  • Open your smartphone's settings.
  • Go to Apps (or "Apps & Notifications").
  • Select Parkster and tap on Permissions.
  • Choose Physical Activity and tap Allow.
  • How can I deactivate overpayment protection?
